Robert Steven “Steve” Blois
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Robert Steven “Steve” Blois on October 26, 2025.
Steve’s life was full, rich, and meaningful—defined by hard work, leadership, and deep care for the people around him. He played a vital role in the founding and early success of Blois Construction. In fact, his name appears on the very first timecard from the company’s first project. After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Steve joined full-time and worked in nearly every capacity—both in the field and the office—before eventually assuming full responsibility for the company’s operations from his father, Bob Blois.
Under Steve’s leadership, Blois Construction grew into one of the most respected heavy civil contractors in Southern California. Just as important as his professional accomplishments, Steve helped define the values that continue to guide us today—People First, No Compromise on Safety, Improve and Evolve, We Do What Is Right, and Results Matter. His example of respect for everyone—from the first-day laborer to the highest-ranking public official—remains central to who we are.
Even after his retirement in 2003, Steve continued to serve his community and industry through leadership roles on the boards of the Tri-Counties Regional AGC, the State of California AGC, the Calleguas Municipal Water District, and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
Steve was especially proud that Blois Construction is now employee-owned and that the opportunities created here will continue to benefit future generations. His impact on this company and the construction community cannot be overstated, and his legacy will endure through the people and principles he helped establish.
